To entrench a culture of compliance with applicable legislative and regulatory frameworks and strengthen the governance and compliance structures within the organisation.

  • Lead, manage and provide direction to the Compliance Team to ensure provision of assurance in regulatory compliance risk management within the organisation and efficiency within the Section;

  • Develop sectional strategies, plans, policies, procedures and process and implement same;

  • Provide inputs in the development of the corporate strategic plans;

  • Support and collaborate with the enforcement and Legal Advisory Services Section to ensure uniformity, coordination and consistency in the operations of the Legal Compliance and Enforcement Division;

  • Continuously analyse the external environment to ensure well informed and updated advice to the business;

  • Ensure business activities are conducted in line with applicable legislative and regulatory frameworks, including internal policies and procedures;

  • Undertake regular compliance risk assessments and advise the business on possible measures to mitigate the identified risk;

  • Monitor the identified risks and ensure that they are adequately addressed;

  • Ensure maintenance of sectional records and information at all times;

  • Provide assurance that the business sections have appropriate regulatory compliance processes to enable management to discharge their functions;

  • Continuously advise the business on compliance requirements to entrench the desired culture of compliance;

  • Identify and monitor legislative developments and keep the business abreast of same;

  • Monitor compliance controls and their effectiveness;

  • Compile and submit compliance reports to all relevant stakeholders (internal and /or external) as per agreed plans or as and when required;

  • Facilitate compliance training and awareness within the organisation to ensure the integration of regulatory compliance controls into the business policies, procedures and processes;

  • Take responsibility for the management of risk within the Section to avoid, where possible, the business legal exposure and liability;

  • Manage the Section’s approved budget and develop strategies to contain cost where possible and practical;



  • LLB or equivalent qualification;

  • LLM degree an added advantage;

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in regulatory compliance;

  • Minimum of 3 years management experience;

  • Experience in the public sector or regulatory environment;

  • Exposure or experience in the built industry will serve as an advantage;



The above-mentioned position will be offered on a 5 years fixed term contract with a Total Cost To Company package.
