Purpose of Role:

Nedbank Group’s Enterprise Governance and Compliance: Compliance Services and Oversight seeks to employ a Compliance Oversight Specialist to support the Compliance Oversight Manager in providing assurance on the consistent implementation and adherence to the Nedbank Compliance Framework and Methodology by all Nedbank compliance officers and administering the Quality Circle Committee.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing support to the Cluster and BU Compliance Functions in ensuring that compliance risk management is carried out as per the Nedbank Compliance Framework and Methodology.

• Reporting to BU and Cluster Compliance Functions on state of compliance to the Framework and Methodology and provide recommended action plans.

• Supporting the Compliance Executive Team with administration of the Quality Circles to be held on a monthly, quarterly and adhoc basis.

• Providing ongoing input to the Compliance Framework, Methodology and Training.

• Building and maintaining visibility of the team.

• Obtaining buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g. operational processes, documenting policies and procedures, etc.) that will add value to stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations.

• Ensuring relevant up skilling takes place and effective handover to relevant responsible person for actioning by sharing knowledge of trends and identified compliance risks with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interactions.

• Influencing the improvement or enhancement of business processes and methodologies by identifying opportunities, researching and recommending improvement initiatives and effective ways to operate and add value to Nedbank.

Qualifications and Experience required:

• Relevant postgraduate degree.

• Registered as a Compliance Practitioner (C.Prac) with the Compliance Institute of South Africa / studying towards this.

• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ compliance experience

• Knowledge and experience of implementing compliance frameworks/strategies

• Solid understanding of compliance best practice and guidance, especially compliance monitoring

• Experience in the financial services sector / banking industry
