Brief description

A vacancy is available in the Know Your Client Department for a KYC Manager to manage the team and to ensure that all responsibilities are discharged in compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory and supervisory requirements.  The candidate will report directly to the Legal and Compliance Director.     


Role and Responsibilities

The brief description outlined above will involve the following specific duties:

·         Identifying KYC requirements (per standardised checklists);

·         Verifying information against acceptable information sources;

·         Review and sign-off on KYC files;

·         Investigation and resolution of KYC exceptions and queries;

·         Ensure that client query responses are of high quality;

·         Manage the KYC team effectively to ensure that service level agreements are met or exceeded;

·         Ensure that all ad hoc queries are effectively responded to;

·         Investigate anti-money laundering requests from the Legal and Compliance Director;

·         Conduct reviews and quality checks on sanction screening;

·         Awareness of relevant regulatory changes;

·         Amend current KYC processes in line with regulatory changes;

·         Assist with requests from the regulator/FIC.


Applicants will need to be in possession of the following:

  • Relevant postgraduate degree.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a KYC role within the financial services industry with supervisor or management responsibilities.
  • High level of computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good working knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF) regulations and processes.
  • Experience managing the implementation of standardized KYC processes.
