The Compliance function and framework is considered as part of the Entity Level Controls (ELC's) of an organisation. For organisations that need to be SOX compliant, as part of their ELC testing the external auditors will review the ELC's annually. A detailed review will normally be conducted every two years, but if there have been control deficiencies they will review it annually. We are revising this course and will advise of the new release.
