Monica is a Professor of Practice on blockchain at the University of Johannesburg. She has held numerous board and advisory positions. Among others, she is a board member of SAICA and the Accounting Blockchain Coalition  (based in the USA) which sets the audit, accounting and tax guidelines for crypto assets. In 2017, Monica was appointed as the South African lead for Consensys, an international venture production studio using blockchain technology to build distributed applications on the Etherum world computer.

Herco is a Senior Fintech Specialist in the South African Reserve Bank’s (SARB) Fintech Unit, having previously worked as a Senior Economist in the SARB’s International Economic Relations and Policy Department, where he focused on international financial regulatory issues. His current interests include crypto-assets, stablecoins and emerging global stablecoins such as Facebook’s Libra.

IRWIN SPILKA

Irwin Spilka is a partner in a niche privacy and data protection consultancy. He was a partner at Stonehage Fleming, an international family office, where he was Group Head of Risk and Compliance from 2000 – 2016 and then its Group’s Data Protection Officer from 2016 -2020 Irwin also spent 20 years with Old Mutual, 10 years in South Africa followed by 10 years in the United Kingdom where he has since lived. He is a non-practicing attorney with an MSc in Training (Leicester) and an MSc in Financial Services Regulation (London Guildhall). He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute for Securities and Investments.

SONJA BLIGNAUT - Complexity

Sonja is the founder of More Beyond. She has been working in the field of complexity since 2002. She has consulted locally and internationally with various high-profile clients. Sonja trains locally and internationally in complexity and related topics at various academic institutions including the University of Pretoria and GIBS Business School. She is a sought-after speaker in a wide variety of industries and conferences including TedX Pretoria.


DR IAN MCCALLUM - Leadership for a new world
Ian McCallum is a medical doctor, analytical  psychologist and psychiatrist. He is a specialist wilderness guide, an author and poet as well as a director of the Wilderness Foundation. His award winning book Ecological Intelligence – Rediscovering Ourselves in Nature addresses the interconnectedness of all living things and ultimately, the survival of the human animal. A former rugby Springbok and vice captain (1970-74), McCallum’s other interests include wildlife photography – he won the Agfa Wildlife ‘Man and Nature’ category in 2001, astronomy and sport. His academic interests focus on evolutionary biology, human ecology and the animal-human interface (what we learn about ourselves from the wild).
