AML Focus Group

 

AML Focus Group

The purpose of the AML Focus Group is to provide a platform for those charged with AML and Financial Crime oversight to get information on the latest regulatory and market developments and to discuss matters of common interest with peers.

The relevant regulators (e.g. FIC, PA and FSCA) regularly attend and present at these sessions. It is open to members and non-members. The working groups that run under the auspices of this focus group are open to members only. However, feedback on their activities is provided at the larger AML focus group.

This Interest Group is open to members from the asset management fraternity. Its purpose is to provide a platform to discuss legislative matters that impact asset managers. Participants include representatives from ASISA.

This committee promotes compliance standards in the public sector. We aim for all levels of the public sector (including SOEs) to be represented in this committee. We invite anyone in the public sector who is responsible for compliance.

ICT Interest Group

 

ICT Interest Group

Chair: Rianné Potgieter

The purpose of this interest group is to create awareness of, and interest in compliance in the ICT / Fintech space, to share knowledge, empower compliance officers in the ICT sector, to influence regulation as necessary and to assist and enable regulators to issue practice notes that are more aligned with the status of the industry.

Financial Sector Steering Committee

Chair: Hildegard Lombard

This Steering Committee oversees and guides the FAIS Forum and all financial sector working groups that may be necessary from time to time, e.g. the COFI working group. One of the main objectives of the working groups is to provide feedback on developing / new legislation to the relevant regulator. This Steering Committee is also the 'face' of the Institute at the CISA / FSCA committee with whom we have quarterly meetings.

The ETP committee ensures that the Institute's training and development programs are relevant to the challenges faced by Compliance Officers today.

Young Professionals Steering Committee (YPSC)

Interim Chairs: Rianné Potgieter and Marelize Gloy 

The YPSC is pivotal in involving young professionals in the Institute’s transformation and in sustaining its long-term relevance and value. The YPSC acts as a conduit between young professionals and the Institute’s Board, ensuring that their views are considered at Board level.

A new committee is being constituted, so get your nominations in by 2 October 2024. Nominees need to accept the nomination by 7 October 2024 and attend an interview between 9 and 16 October. The first YPSC meeting on 18 October 2024.
