The CProf (SA) designation focuses on the strategic aspects of compliance.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
It is aimed at senior compliance officers. Typical activities include:
- Head of compliance, leadership
- Interact at the senior management and governing body levels of an organisation
- Advise on compliance governance, structure, roles and responsibilities
- Define and set compliance risk appetite with the governing body
- Responsible for compliance strategy, framework and policy
- Stakeholder management (including regulators)
- Compliance awareness and culture
- Determine compliance methodology that suits the organisation, aligned with GACPTM
- Compliance oversight and improvement
- Management of compliance function
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Individuals applying for the CProf (SA) designation need to comply with the following entrance criteria:
- Be a member in good standing; and
- Not have anything in their past of present that will put CISA or the designation into disrepute; and
- Holds the CPrac (SA) designation; and
- Have a minimum of three (3) years of compliance-related work experience on a strategic level.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
In exceptional cases, where an applicant does not hold the CPrac (SA) designation, they may be considered through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) route, provided that the applicant holds a relevant qualification at NQF Level 7 and has a minimum of five (5) years of compliance 4 related work experience at a strategic level. Admission through the RPL route is subject to independent assessment and remains at the sole discretion of the Institute.
CPROF(SA) EVALUATION PROCESS
Unless approved by the assessor to proceed to the RPL evaluation process, all candidates for the CProf (SA) designation will be required to successfully complete the following assessment activities:
- A simulation that is based on a provided case study; and
- Participate in a Peer Interview.
Candidates will be required to first prove competence in the simulation stage before being invited to the Peer Interview.
