CISA CEO welcomes you to 2024 - A year of impact

As we welcome 2024, I am thrilled to share our vision and plans for the year ahead. For us at CISA we anticipate a year of opportunities and growth and I trust the same is true for you.

The Institute is turning 21 this year! We will be rolling out various initiatives over the coming months. I hope you will join us as we celebrate this milestone and embark on the new initiatives into the next 21 years. Here are some of the initiatives you can look forward to.

This year, our overarching theme is "Impact - Continue making a difference in compliance".  Following on from our pledges made last year, it is our commitment to continue making a significant impact in compliance. Each one of us plays a vital role in contributing to this mission.

Revised GACP

The revised Generally Accepted Compliance Practice © (GACP) framework consists of principles, standards and supplementary guides and continues to set a benchmark for compliance best practice that organisations and their compliance officers should apply. It is effective from 1 January 2024 and available on a digital platform that you can access at anytime from anywhere. This resource is free to members. Chat to our team to get your access credentials.

Your professional journey

Our AMLC Prac (SA) and AML programme are already in full swing. After going through two pilot exams last year, we have made some tweaks and enhancements. We are ready to open registrations for you to obtain your AMLC Prac (SA) designation.

Of course, our CPrac (SA) and CProf (SA) designations are also available. Registrations for all our designations will be opening soon. So get ready!

Training

Registrations are open for the first quarter. Head over to our website to see available courses. Registration is quick and easy. However, our team is always on hand to assist you if needed. Keep an eye out for our new AML training programme. The team is hard at work to bring you SA-focused AML content.

In-person training sessions are kicking off again.

We will offer select training courses as in-person sessions. If you are looking for opportunities to network with, and learn from other compliance officers, this is for you.

Annual conference - 28 & 29 August 2024

Mark your calendars and save the date for our Annual Conference scheduled for the 28th and 29th of August 2024! This event promises to be an invaluable opportunity to exchange ideas, gain insights, and network with your fellow compliance professionals. I encourage each one of you to participate and make the most out of this enriching experience.

Annual graduation and awards event

This year, our awards ceremony will be held on 29 August after the conference. It will be an in-person gala dinner as we acknowledge, celebrate and award those individuals and teams who have achieved excellence in compliance. It is an event not to be missed. So, start planning towards attending the annual conference and awards in Gauteng.
